Unlimited plans
Unlimited plans have no total cap. After 3 GB at full speed in a single day the speed drops for the rest of that day and comes back the next morning — the same fair-use arrangement Italian carriers apply to their own unlimited plans.

Is an eSIM cheaper than roaming in Italy?
Depends where you live. EU residents already roam in Italy on their home plan under the bloc's roam-like-at-home rules, so this product is not for them. For everyone else — the US, the UK since Brexit, and most of Asia — Italy sits outside any roam-like-home zone, and the home carrier's out-of-region rate applies same as anywhere else outside home turf. Are there hidden fees?
No. The price on the screen is the whole price: no activation fee, no deposit, no monthly charge, no automatic renewal, and none of the surcharges that turn up at the bottom of a local carrier's bill. The app is free, and plans simply expire.
Which plan should I choose?
A city break with hotel Wi-Fi at night is mostly maps, messages and photos going out, and does not need much. Take a larger bundle if you work from the phone, share a hotspot with the family, or move between Rome, Florence and Venice with navigation running all day. Take an unlimited plan if you would rather not think about it.
